Education Solution...

Privately run schooling with Miss Gaga! :) The girls are ready for school! Here's an update!
Liah has made it to the letter Q! She is all ready for DIBELS LNF and ISF (teachers know what I am talking about!!) :) The highlight of the week is the letter plate! These are our faves!!

Maia has mastered the following shapes and is counting up to 15!
They have calendar each day and are working on sight words and current events!
Thanks Gaga! I have faith that the government can't cut you! :)

Visit to the vet!

AKA- our children to the pediatrician! We found a new doctor, Dr. Garcia. We were very pleased, thank goodness after the hot messes we have had in the past! The girls checked out normal! Liah was the usual calm, cool and collected child. Maia was a dramatic, defiant diva, also the usual! :)
Maia was 26 lbs (70%) and 34.5 inches (60%)= Mom, short and stubby! :)

Liah was 34.5 lbs (70%) and 40 inches (90%)= Dad, muscular and tall (well, kind of Chris!)

They checked out in all areas. The doctor was really impressed with both of their verbal/vocab/language skills. Liah is well above 1,000 words (she referred to Dr. Garcia as her "new pediatrician!") and Maia has sentences and is far beyond 50 words (case in point, "I get down, I mad!" in response to the shots!)
Lord only knows where they get all the talking from!? Chris and I are so shy and reserved! :)
Love you girls!

Rally

As educators, the recent budget cut hits close to home. We peacefully joined forces with Dr. Nine (our superintendent) and many other concerned folks to raise awareness for our cause.

Unfortunately, our strong voices were ignored and the state is facing a large cut. I wonder what this might mean in the future for my children!?
For now, we remain positive and vocal, stopping to smell the roses...... for now!

Kind of a BIG deal!

Yep, my hubby, Coach Gooden is a BIG deal. He lead the Eagles to a second victory, in 2 years! His undefeated record speaks volumes to his coaching ability and the talent of his team. I am a proud "football widow!"

The cheerleaders travel with Dad! :)
(such great form at 3 1/2!)
The entire family came out to rally around the team. It was an awesome 20-0 win. We celebrated after the game with a family/coaches' dinner!
Coach Gooden will step-up as Florence's Offensive Coordinator for the 2009 season. We love you Dad!

Showing the love

I tried to get a jump on Valentines! The girls already had their outfits and bows, so Aunt Manda and I staged a photo shoot! Liah was very cooperative!
Maia was Maia!

We got a FEW good shots. I am calling a re-do! :)
Stella loves it, can't you tell!?
Trouble!!!

Best friends....
Here's Maia trying to be sweet!

Saturday Fun

We decided to try to take the girls to the movies.
Missy here started her day with an attitude, but we went with high hopes! :)

We killed some time walking around the shopping area.
Then off to Bolt...
Liah enjoyed her snacks and LOVED the movie. After 30 minutes of being way to good... Maia needed some freedom. She spent some time running in the hall. She is not the quietest child (and movie law says silent!), so this event will now only be a date for Liah!:) Mai is still too young. She did finally crash..... at the end!
Liah gives Bolt a thumbs up!
We came home and Maia was back up. This is her new "you have to catch me to change position!" She is such a stinker!
We went to the park later in the evening.
A great family Saturday!!

School Days...

I have failed to mention a "gift" I was given for Christmas. We got a new member to the family... Melissa. She joins our rockin, coordinating, snappy team. A gift because my class size was reduced! wooo
( Leah, Melissa, Me, Heather, Enika~ yes we planned the color scheme...duh!)

100th day fun! We made ALL of Kindergarten 100 day shirts, too cute!
We took our normal Friday Field Trip (to McDonald's for some hot fries)! However, as of Monday I paid $10 to join the school's biggest loser. I weighed in Monday and today.... lost 3lbs!! So, here I am with my healthy lunch at McDonald's. The one thing I love more than food.... competition and winning. (While I don't have a snowball's chance I am determined to be a hottie for my 30th... 5 months and counting!)
Here I am before transformation (no I don't have pink eye, I really can't explain it!).

After- Zero the Hero~ the masked superhero who spans the globe visiting classrooms on the days that end in zero!
My ultimate motivation= the chance to roller skate through the school and the ability to excite chaos!
Zero and HBR... This year, once wasn't enough. Zero visited the festival in the morning, then made another appearance....
rolling through all of the specials (PE, art, music, computers) teeheehee!
You know what this means... only 80 days to go! ;)

Black & White

I love it (obviously! ;))
